Caryl SchlicherFor over 30 years, Caryl Schlicher has been an innovator and an agent for positive change. Now, her unique communication workshops and coaching are making a significant difference in people’s lives using an incremental skill development process that is the culmination of her entire career and life experience.

In 2002 she was named the winner of the Caterpillar Master’s Fellowship for her research proposal looking into the possibilities for overall healthcare cost reduction as a result of greater attention to the emotional/relationship side of employees’ lives. Her work as a trainer and coach is now benefiting others for staff development, leadership training, employee engagement, team building, personal growth both at work and at home, and overall wellness.

In addition to connecting personally with her audience, she incorporates methods she learned while earning her M.A. in Community/Agency Counseling at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She also draws from her experience as a speech/English instructor, speech coach, and professional tutor at the high school and college levels.

As a computer programmer/systems analyst for Caterpillar Inc. she advocated for greater cooperation among departments, more collaborative communication among peers, and better documentation for reducing learning curves.

Now, in all walks of life—in businesses, families, schools, churches, and social service organizations—she works to improve lives and create business success through proactive education and coaching, helping people improve their daily interaction with others, become more influential, and reduce stress. In addition to being effective, her workshops are fun, fast-paced, and hands-on.

Workshop/coaching clients have included Excel Foundry & Machine Inc., Prairie Animal Hospital, Culture Change Coalition, Curves, the general public, & more. She has also worked as a health screener and volunteer chaplain assistant on the cardiac floor for Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL, now called UnityPoint Health. Writing clients have included Caterpillar Inc., Peoria Journal Star, Startup Peoria, RE/MAX, Business Network International & many others. She is also the author of several books and has written/edited devotionals for Pastor Bryan Chapell, President Emeritus of Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.
